To mark the launch of "Appetite for Change", the National Trust quizzed members of the National Assembly for Wales on their knowledge of local and seasonal food.
Eleanor Burnham's food expertise was rewarded with a hamper presented at Erddig by property manager Jamie Watson and Erika Kruge from the National Trust. The hamper included produce from some of the Trust's tenant farms in North Wales.
Eleanor said " I have always been a passionate supporter of the National Trust and was delighted to participate in this initiative to promote Appetite for Change which demonstrates the valuable work undertaken by the National Trust to support food producers in Wales"
The National Trust is Wales' largest owner of farmland and one of the largest fresh food caterers. It also manages dozens of historic kitchen gardens, allotments and other growing spaces, many of which give local communities the space to grow their own food.
Appetite for change/Awch am Newid shares the progress the National Trust has made in supporting farm tenants and sea fishing by sourcing sustainably-produced, local and seasonal food for its 150 restaurants and cafes.
It also demonstrates the ways the Trust engages engage people in the 'story' of their food and how promoting its heritage and provenance is enriching food culture and supporting community action.
Throughout the year the Trust will be organising events to help people grow their own food and enjoy sampling local treats
