Burnham fears for more North Wales job losses.

Eleanor Burnham, Welsh Liberal Democrat Assembly Member for North Wales, urged the Assembly Government to do everything possible to avoid even more job losses in North Wales. Last Friday, it was announced that 150 workers in Flintshire feared for their employment at a pizza factory in Deeside after the company, Paramount Foods, risked losing a contract with a retailer.
Eleanor Burnham said:
"North Wales is currently enduring a difficult economic time; the region has already coped with the loss of over 150 jobs at the Flexsys plant and a loss of 56 jobs at JCB, both in Wrexham.
"Residents are already feeling the credit crunch, due to the rising cost of living, fuel increases and increases in interest rates which put extra strain on paying mortgages. This is the time when people need stability and assurance in their employment.
"Paramount Foods are still in negotiations to try and minimise the number of job losses, however the Assembly Government needs to become more proactive and supportive so that other businesses are not forced to make such devastating choices and subject the region to any more job losses."
