There was cause for celebration at Arriva Buses Wales' Llandudno Junction garage this week when staff were presented with the prestigious Investors In People (IIP) title by the Welsh Liberal Democrat Assembly Shadow Minister for Culture, Communities and Equality, Eleanor Burnham.
Eleanor Burnham said "After months of hard work the Glan-y-Mor Road site, also the location of Arriva Buses Wales' head office, has become the second of the local operator's depots to have been accredited with the title, following in the footsteps of staff at Wrexham. I was delighted to present the employees at Llandudno Junction which shows how teamwork and communication can boost performance and make a real difference at work."
"It's fantastic to know that we're a leader in best practice," said general manager, Keith Anglesea. "This is only the start of the process and now it's our chance to prove that we can consistently achieve standards of excellence. I'm really proud of the team here at Llandudno and what we have all achieved."
Now that Llandudno Junction and Wrexham have achieved IIP status, other Arriva garages throughout North Wales are being given the opportunity to demonstrate that they are people-driven and are able to utilise the skills of employees to improve performance and meet business objectives.
Michael Morton, managing director, Arriva Buses Wales said: "The Investors in People recognition is thoroughly well deserved and I am really pleased that Llandudno Junction has achieved the award. The IIP accreditation reflects the fact that the staff are committed to their work and team performance."
IIP is a business improvement tool which helps the company to advance its performance through its employees
