North Wales AM Eleanor Burnham has called on the Social Justice Minister, Carl Sargeant, to outline firm plans for the promised prostitution and female trafficking project in North Wales.
Commenting, Welsh Liberal Democrat AM Eleanor Burnham said:
"This project was promised as part of a new Strategy which the Minister announced in March.
"In recent weeks we have seen the withdrawal of core funding for the Wales Women's National Coalition and now that extremely important women's organisation will have to fold.
"Sex trafficking is a much bigger problem than we realise and I want the Minister to take urgent action to prioritise the North Wales project. As the Minister was unable to give me a conclusive answer in the Siambr today I will be writing to obtain detailed information on resources and timescales.
"It is essential that vulnerable women are given the urgent protection they need and deserve".
