Eleanor Burnham, Assembly Member for North Wales has called on the Welsh Assembly Government to review the current provision of support being given to homeless veterans in Wales.
Commenting, Eleanor, Welsh Liberal Democrat Spokesperson for Equality, said, "It is a sad fact that veterans make up 12% of all homeless in Wales.
"On top of that, we know that around 10% of the prison population are ex-servicemen and that ex-offenders find it incredibly difficult to get accommodation on release.
"This means that many veterans in Wales are doubly disadvantaged and not receiving the valuable support they deserve. In addition, many are suffering from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and are unable to access the treatment they need.
"The current state of affairs is completely unacceptable and should be reviewed as a matter of urgency."
