Eleanor Burnham, Welsh Liberal Democrat Assembly Member for North Wales has today called on the Labour-Plaid coalition government to explain why Wrexham, Denbighshire and Flintshire have been excluded from a £120 million capital funding initiative to provide resources for schools, hospitals and housing.
Commenting on the above Eleanor said:
" I am shocked by today's announcement and cannot believe the government felt there were no projects in Wrexham that deserved financial support. I have asked the Minister to clarify and justify how decisions were made and to explain what criteria they used to assess projects.
She continued:
"Only last week, an Evening Leader poll found the majority of people in North East Wales had no interest in the outcome of the Assembly leadership and many people felt the Assembly favoured South Wales. In failing to provide funding to North East Wales projects including the Racecourse, it shows that people's perceptions of the Assembly having a bias have been confirmed.
