Eleanor Burnham, Welsh Liberal Democrat Spokesperson on Children and Young People has commended the work of Action for Children, a children's charity that supports and speaks out for the UK's most vulnerable children and young people.
On a visit to Action for Children's Wrexham office in Sontley Road on Monday, Eleanor had the opportunity to see the breadth of the work undertaken in Wrexham and to discuss the uncertainty of future funding due to the Labour -Plaid Government proposed cuts to local authorities.
Eleanor said " Action of Children provide an extensive ranges of services including family support, help for children in care and young carers. They also provide specialist expertise and work alongside Local Health Boards and Social Services, playing an instrumental role in ensuring children's' voices are heard and that their safety, emotional well being and rights are protected.
"Our community relies on Action for Children's help and I urge the Labour-Plaid Government to review their funding strategy to allow Action for Children to continue their work to protect vulnerable children without threat of funding cuts."
