Eleanor Burnham, Assembly Member for North Wales has challenged First Minister Rhodri Morgan to provide more flexible and affordable training for small business owners and employees in North Wales.
Speaking in First Minister's Questions Eleanor, Welsh Lib Dem Shadow Minister for Communities said, "Flexible and affordable training is absolutely essential to ensure the future of many of our SMEs, especially in these difficult economic times.
"I know of one local builder who recently had to travel to Stockport to attend an appropriate training course because there was nothing available locally. The Welsh Assembly Government needs to get its act together to support FE colleges and training companies so that small businesses can access affordable and appropriate staff training and skills development at a local level.
"The provision of this training is essential for the future of our economy in Wales".
