Eleanor welcomes Kirsty as new Leader in Wales
Eleanor Burnham, Welsh Liberal Democrat Assembly Member for North Wales, has welcomed the result of the election of Kirsty Williams as the new Leader of the Liberal Democrats in Wales, the first ever female leader of a political party in Wales.
Speaking after the result was announced in Cardiff, Eleanor said: "I am delighted for our Party that we have elected a new Leader who will bring a fresh and vigorous approach to tackling the failings of the Labour-Plaid alliance in Wales.
"And I am especially proud that it is the Liberal Democrats that have made history by being the first political party in Wales to elect a female leader.
"I look forward to working together with Kirsty to take the fight to Labour and Plaid in the coming months and years, not just in Cardiff but in every corner of my North Wales constituency where there can be no more no go areas for the Liberal Democrats."
