Eleanor Burnham, Welsh Liberal Democrat Assembly Member for North Wales, today challenged the Deputy First Minister over the Assembly Government's lack of support for the employees of the doomed North Wales Flexsys factory.
Ms Burnham urged the Assembly Government to provide help and advice to all employees affected by the closure of the historic rubber factory.
Ms Burnham said:
"The Assembly Government must provide all the support it can to the Flexsys employees who have found themselves without jobs. This is a difficult time for the employees and their families. The Assembly Government should provide advice to the affected employees and assistance in finding new employment.
"The Assembly Government should also be consulting with Flexsys to ensure that the site is free from dangerous chemicals before the company leaves so that the Local Authority is not left with an expensive and time consuming clean-up operation."
