Eleanor signs in after her successful re-election as North Wales Assembly Member
Dear Sir,
I am writing to express my thanks to all the individuals across North Wales whose votes for the Welsh Liberal Democrats re-elected me for a second full term.
It is always going to be a challenge to represent such a large and diverse region in the Welsh Assembly, but it is one that I am delighted to meet.
North Wales has long struggled to have its needs met by an Assembly Government based in Cardiff Bay, which is why I believe one of the first steps we need to take in the new term is to re-establish the North Wales Regional Committee. I have received a great deal of support from many local people over the past four years and the regional committee has played a valuable role as a forum for voicing local needs. Without the regular committee meeting to discuss the issues that matter in North Wales, I fear our concerns could be pushed further aside in the Assembly.
As the new Assembly finds its feet during the next few weeks, I will be sure to continue to campaign on the issues that matter most to people in North Wales. I and my staff look forward to continuing to work with local organisations and with constituents throughout the region.
Eleanor Burnham
