"There is a growing family of community broadcasters in Wales, each different, each serving the needs of their local area. I wish them every success, and hope that the next Assembly government can do more to bring down the barriers which make it so difficult for community radio to succeed."
Notes/Nodiadau:
Welsh Liberal Democrats want to break down the barriers that prevent community media from reaching its full potential.
They are pledging to develop the new Community Radio Fund to ensure that there is WAG support and expertise available to communities to guide them through the often complicated process of applying for, and securing, licences.
They also want to change the current arbitrary limits on revenue streams, sponsorship and advertising holds commercial media back, although this will require legislation under the Assembly's new powers.
