Dear Sir,
Following your article about the tussle between Denbighshire County Council and North Wales Labour MPs, I'd like to ask when it comes to saving our post office network, who are the real hypocrites?
Labour MPs across the region have once again used their tactic of banding together to condemn a local authority for hypocrisy, while all the time it is their government in Westminster who have done their utmost to restrict the services our local POs can offer.
I, like many in Wales, cannot forget that it was the Labour government in Westminster who told us that Post Offices would have to go because there wasn't enough public demand for their services. How could there be, when Labour have imposed restrictions on those the Post Office can provide and are even set on abolishing the Post Office Card Account that provided customers with banking services on their doorstep.
The future of POs in North Wales is such a crucial issue to people that it's easy to try and pass the buck, especially when these Labour MPs know that it is their party who are stripping services and watching local communities dwindle as a result. As for hypocrisy, I think it's clear who the real culprits are - 'Labour back POs'…but continue to strip them and our communities bare.
