Eleanor Burnham AM is today seeking to ask an urgent questions in the first Plenary of the new Assembly term after battery firm Duracell announced the loss of over 100 jobs at its plant in Wrexham.
The shock announcement that the manufacturer was to shut the North Wales plant came without any council consultation, prompting concern for those facing unemployment.
Eleanor Burnham, Welsh Liberal Democrat Assembly Member for North Wales, says: "I am disappointed to hear that these jobs have been lost without any discussions with the council. I will be calling on the Minister to ensure that workers get the maximum support possible.
"This decision by Duracell comes as a blow to the economy in our area. I will be pressing the Minister to ensure that the Welsh Assembly Government works with the company to do all they can to soften the impact for the employees."
