The Appeal Court in London today ruled that the Wrexham Football Club stadium should remain in the hands of the club's administrators after the former chairman of Wrexham Alex Hamilton failed to seize control of the Racecourse ground.
Commenting on today's decision, Welsh Liberal Democrat Assembly Member Eleanor Burnham AM, who lives locally to Wrexham, said that, "This is a much needed boost for Wrexham FC. This has been a difficult year with successive problems weighing down on the club. But the club, the players and the fans have all worked hard and have remained dedicated to the future of Wrexham FC. This decision was a much deserved boost for everyone.
"The Racecourse is a very important ground in Wales. It is crucial that it continues to host both Wrexham FC and play host to major sporting events. I am confident that the grounds will find a buyer, one who has the clubs and Wrexham's best interests at heart."
