Eleanor Burnham, Welsh Liberal Democrat spokesperson for the Welsh Language, Culture and Sport, has praised the vibrancy of the Urdd Eisteddfod on its first visit to its new home in Cardiff Bay.
Mrs Burnham said: "Bringing the Urdd Eisteddfod to Cardiff Bay is a brilliant idea, and makes great use of the fantastic building we have in the Wales Millennium Centre, and helps forge the link with Wales' Capital City in its centenary year.
"The venue is a great addition to the Urdd's attractions. The organisation already has sites in rural Wales, and on the coast. By having an urban base, the Urdd can make the connection with all aspects of modern Welsh life.
"The Urdd has brought a wonderfully vibrant atmosphere to the Bay during this half term week, and hasn't allowed the changeable weather to dampen the sense of celebration. This first year has set a high standard, and I'm sure that lessons learned this week - for example about how to sign people around the site and how to engage more fully with the local community hosting the event - will enable future Eisteddfodau to be even more successful when they visit the capital."
